Indigenous Chronic Diseases

Indigenous chronic diseases are the ones which depend upon the physical, mental, psychological factors of the place in which they are living. The most common indigenous chronic diseases include Asthma, Diabetes, Cancer, Stroke, Heart Diseases and more. Chronic diseases are some of the leading causes of potentially avoidable deaths, potentially avoidable hospitalizations. Chronic disease is a substantial problem for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Chronic conditions like respiratory diseases (including asthma), heart and circulatory diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney diseases and some cancers are more common among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people than among non-Indigenous people.
